Prince Edward Island Credit Unions are locally owned and operated full-service financial institutions that take pride in being part of the community. Credit Unions are part of a strong national/international movement but our commitment begins at home to provide our members with a means of securing their future and making a better way of life through wise use of financial services. Through donations and sponsorships, Credit Unions enable local community groups and organizations to remain active.
Here are just a few of our activities within our communities:

Community
We invite friends, family and visitors alike to join us in the Western most part of Prince Edward Island over the summer for the many festivals and celebrations. In some cases, they are simply times to enjoy good fun and camaraderie but in some cases they are fundraisers for community causes. As a part of our role in community development, your credit union helps support those events that promote our overall community and/or raise monies for community projects by making donations of product or providing sponsorships. Tignish Credit Union was a major sponsor for the Potato Blossom Golf Tournament held at the Mill River Golf Course in June, a major sponsor for the Red Clay Blue Grass Festival and the Irish Folk Festival planned for July and August in Tignish as well as providing prizes for many of the golfing fundraisers held at St Felix Golf course.
Everyone remembers the local festivals for their local spirit and warmth. Be sure to check out the dates for the Irish Moss Festival in Tignish, the Prince County Exhibition in Alberton and all the community days from Miminegash to North Cape to Northport along with the Parish picnics and music festivals. Many who have allowed the extra time to visit West Prince have often commented that it was the hilight of their trip so don’t miss out.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation is currently the only source of ongoing funding for equipment for the QEH. Medical equipment is extremely expensive and must be upgraded to meet the demands of technology. Every dollar raised from the 21 Hour Equipment Drive goes to purchase much-needed medical equipment. Each year, through various fundraising activities, PEI Credit Unions raised funds to help this worthy cause.

The Credit Unions of Prince Edward Island have sponsored the Credit Union Golf for Wishes tournament and have helped with raising over $100,000 for the Foundation.
